A–Z Guide – Everything you need to know for your stay

When you rent a holiday home through V∙Kysten, your stay should be easy and worry-free. That’s why we’ve created this A–Z guide with everything you need to know – from arrival and key collection to final cleaning, pets, waste disposal, and Wi-Fi.

Here you’ll find answers to the most common questions, so you can feel well-prepared and in good hands throughout your stay. Whether you’re travelling with family, friends, or bringing your dog along, our A–Z overview gives you a quick and clear summary of all the essential information.

Allergy

Only houses marked as allergy friendly are guaranteed to be pet-free. In other houses, even where pets are not allowed, animals may previously have been present.

Arrival and Departure

Four days before your arrival, you will receive a welcome email with practical information, including key collection details.

If the key is collected from a key box at the holiday home, please return it to the same place at departure.

Unless otherwise stated in your rental contract, the rental period runs from 3:00 p.m. on the day of arrival until 10:00 a.m. on the day of departure. Please note that during July and August, check-in is from 4:00 p.m. on the first day.

We kindly ask you to respect the stated arrival time. If the house is taken into use before the agreed time without prior arrangement, a fee of EUR 69 will be charged.

Baby Cot and High Chair

Guests booking through V∙Kysten can borrow a high chair free of charge and rent a baby cot for EUR 10. Both can be added when booking your stay or by contacting us afterwards. We recommend ordering in advance, so it is ready in the house when you arrive.

Bathing Guidelines

The North Sea is fantastic – but also powerful. Please follow the official bathing safety tips: never swim alone, only go out as far as your waist, swim along the coast, and avoid alcohol when swimming. This ensures a safe and enjoyable experience.

Beds and sleeping arrangements

Bed sizes vary and are listed in each house description. Storage space in wardrobes may be limited.

Bicycle Rental

If you would like bicycles during your holiday, these can be rented from Havs Bike. They deliver the bikes directly to your holiday home free of charge. Use the code V.KYSTEN when booking.

Charging Electric Cars

The house description states whether charging an electric or hybrid car is allowed. If permitted, the type of charger will also be indicated. Unauthorized charging is a fire hazard and may result in liability for damages.

Complaints

Any damages or deficiencies must be reported immediately upon arrival and no later than within 48 hours.
V∙Kysten cannot be held responsible for sudden faults (e.g., power or water supply failures, blocked drains) but we will ensure repairs are carried out as quickly as possible after notification.

Construction Noise

Construction or renovation work may take place in the area. V∙Kysten cannot be held responsible for any related noise disturbances.

Damages

As tenant, you are liable for any missing items or damages caused during the rental period. All damages must be reported to V∙Kysten before departure.

Deposit and Utilities

A deposit is always required when renting. After departure, the bureau inspects the house, and utility costs are deducted from the deposit. Any remaining balance will be refunded within 14 days – please remember to provide your account details on the utility sheet.

Distances

Distances to the beach are measured “as the crow flies” using Google Earth and should be considered indicative.

Electricity

All holiday homes have 220V installation.

Final Cleaning

Final cleaning is mandatory and specified on your rental confirmation. The house must always be left tidy, with empty fridge and dishwasher. All waste and bottles must be disposed of before departure.

Firewood

Firewood is never included in the rental price but can be purchased at roadside stalls, gas stations, or local shops. If there is firewood at the holiday home, it belongs to the owner and may only be used if specifically listed on the utility sheet. Payment is made directly to the owner and left in the house at departure.

Fishing license

If you want to fish along the coast, you must have a valid fishing license. It can be purchased online at www.fisketegn.dk.

Furnishing and Equipment

All houses are privately owned and individually decorated. Standard equipment includes toilet, bath, stove, coffee maker, duvets and pillows, as well as kitchenware for the maximum number of guests. You must bring your own bed linen, towels, dishcloths, and personal items.

Garden Furniture

All houses include garden tables and chairs. Parasols and sun loungers are only available if specified under the house facilities.

Grill

All holiday homes include a garden grill for your use. Please clean it after use. V∙Kysten assumes no responsibility for condition or cleanliness.
For gas grills: If the gas bottle runs out, you can exchange it at the nearest supplier. Please place the receipt with your utility sheet – we will reimburse it in your final settlement.

Guests

The number of overnight guests must never exceed what is stated in the house description. It is not permitted to set up tents, caravans, or motorhomes on the property.

Information

Practical information about the house can be found in the welcome letter and on the utility sheet.

Insects

As the houses are located in natural surroundings, ants, flies, and spiders may occur. If there is a larger infestation, please contact the bureau.

Linen

You can rent linen packages through V∙Kysten. Each package includes bed linen, towels, and a dishcloth. Pre-ordered linen will be in the house when you arrive.

Lost Property

Forgotten items are stored for 8 weeks after departure and can be returned to you at your expense.

Payment

The rental amount must be paid according to your rental agreement. By making payment, you confirm that you have read and accepted the terms and conditions.
If full payment is not received on time, the bureau may cancel the contract without notice. In this case, the tenant has no claim to the rental, and the owner is not obliged to uphold the contract.

Pets

Dogs are welcome in houses where it is indicated and if they are registered on the rental confirmation. Unfortunately, cats are not permitted in our holiday homes.
If the pet rules are not followed – such as bringing unregistered pets, exceeding the allowed number, or letting pets in furniture where it is not permitted – a fee of EUR 135 may be charged. In serious cases, guests may be required to vacate the house.
Please remember to clean up after your dog both indoors and outdoors at departure.

Plots

Many houses are located on natural plots with heather, grass, and dunes. These areas are not always suitable for play or ball games, and grass is not mowed. Tents or caravans are not permitted on the grounds.

Smoking

Smoking is not permitted in our holiday homes. Failure to comply will result in a fee.

Spa

If your holiday home has a spa, it will always be thoroughly cleaned between each rental. During your stay, please follow the instructions for using chlorine tablets to keep the water clean and pleasant. If the spa has been used, please leave the water in at departure – this makes the subsequent cleaning easier.

TV and Streaming

Many houses are equipped with TV and/or streaming services. Channel selection varies according to the owner’s subscription, and reception may be affected by weather conditions.

Use of the Holiday Home

The holiday home is intended for vacation, relaxation, and cozy moments. You are of course welcome to work remotely during your stay, but the house must not be used for business purposes, parties, or other gatherings.

Utility Costs

Electricity and, if applicable, water meters are read at arrival and departure. Water is only recorded if listed separately on the utility sheet. Electricity prices are adjusted regularly to reflect current market rates.

Waste

In several holiday home areas, waste disposal is handled via centrally located collection points. If your holiday home does not have its own bin, please use the nearest waste station (usually located near the main access roads). If you have trouble finding it, feel free to contact us.
As collection schedules vary by area, the bin may not be empty upon your arrival. Waste must always be sorted according to local guidelines. If the house is left with unsorted or overflowing waste, the bin will not be emptied and a fee may be charged.

Weather Conditions

We cannot be held responsible for snow, storms, or other weather conditions that may affect access to or departure from the holiday home.

Winter Rentals

Between October 1 and March 31, houses are preheated to approx. 15°C upon arrival. In pool houses, the pool is typically heated to 24–28°C.

Wi-Fi

All holiday homes include free Wi-Fi. Login details are listed on the utility sheet.

Youth Groups

We do not allow youth groups in our holiday homes. This applies to groups of four or more where the majority are under 25 years of age.
