Bunker Museum 10th Battery

The Bunker Museum 10th Battery is Denmark's most complete and excavated German defense installation from World War II. The museum is located in a beautiful natural area near Hirtshals Lighthouse, covering an area of 450 x 750 meters. The facility consists of 3.5 km of trenches connecting 69 bunkers.

During the occupation, the 10th Battery was part of the "Support Group Hirtshals," which included two coastal artillery batteries, a reinforcement station, three infantry support points, and a radar station. The battery was equipped with four 10.5 cm field guns mounted on concrete platforms with earthen embankments around them.

One of the bunkers has been transformed into an exhibition area that tells the story of the 10th Battery and Hirtshals during the occupation. In other bunkers, the original furnishings have been recreated, providing an authentic insight into the soldiers' lives during the war.

The museum is open year-round and offers guided tours during the summer season. It is an excellent opportunity to dive into history and understand how German soldiers lived during World War II.
